Privacy Policy – Smart Printer - Print & Scan
Privacy Policy – Smart Printer - Print & Scan
Effective date: 12 October 2026
Your documents, photos and scans are processed on your device and sent only to the printer you choose; the App has no account, shows no ads and keeps no personal data on servers of ours. What it does collect and share is set out below.
The Smart Printer - Print & Scan app (package name com.smart.printer.print.scanner, the “App”) is published by Calify LTD, a company registered in Israel (“Calify”, “we”, “us”). This policy applies to the Android version of the App distributed through Google Play.
It explains what information the App collects, how we use it, which third parties receive it, how long it is kept and the choices and rights you have. Questions about this policy can be sent to support@calify-ai.com.
Your documents, photos and scans. Files you choose to print, scan, edit or convert are processed on your device. Word, Excel and PowerPoint files are rendered by the App itself, PDFs by Android’s built-in renderer, and text recognition in scans runs on your device through Google ML Kit. Your files are never uploaded to us or to any conversion service. They leave your device only when you send them to a printer, share or save them to another app or location you choose, or print a web page, which loads that page from the internet.
Camera. With your permission, the App uses the camera to scan documents and take photos for printing. Scans are saved in the App’s private storage on your device.
Contacts. If you choose to print a contact list, the App reads contact names and phone numbers from your device, with your permission, to lay out the page. This data is processed on your device and sent only to the printer you select.
Photos and files. With your permission, the App shows your photos in an in-app picker. Other files are opened only through Android’s file picker, Share or Open with, which can include files you pick from Google Drive, Dropbox or OneDrive; the App never signs in to those services and has no access to your mailbox.
Printers and network. To find and connect to printers, the App scans your local Wi-Fi network, Bluetooth and USB. On Android 11 and older, Android requires the location permission for Bluetooth scanning; the App never reads or uses your location. Printer details (name, connection type, address, location text and capabilities) are stored on your device only.
Device and usage data. Through Google Firebase (Analytics, Crashlytics and Remote Config) we receive a Firebase installation ID, device model and Android version, app version, language, country derived from your IP address, usage events (for example which features are used and the type of printer connection), and crash reports. Crash reports include recent app log lines, which can contain the names of printers found on your network. They never contain your documents or contacts.
Purchases. If you buy Pro, Google Play processes the payment. We receive only the purchase status and product identifier needed to unlock Pro on your device, never your payment details.
Settings and history kept on your device. Your preferences, saved printers, print history (document name, type, page count, date and print settings), recent documents, text recognised in your scans, the last print draft and the last photo selection are stored locally and never uploaded. Print history can be turned off in Settings.
We use the information described above only to:
Provide the App’s features: printing, scanning, editing, text recognition, saving and sharing files
Find, connect to and remember your printers
Unlock and maintain Pro after a purchase
Understand how the App is used and fix crashes and bugs
Configure and improve the App remotely (for example which subscription plans and links are shown) through Firebase Remote Config
Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Use
We do not sell personal information, do not use it for advertising and do not build profiles of individual users.
We have no servers of our own. Data leaves your device only to the recipients below, each under its own privacy terms.
Recipient
What it receives
Why
Google Firebase (Analytics, Crashlytics, Remote Config)
Firebase installation ID, device and app details, usage events, crash reports with recent log lines, IP address
Usage statistics, crash fixing, remote configuration (Firebase privacy)
Google Play services (Billing, In-App Review)
Purchase status, IP address
Purchases and the rate-us prompt (Google privacy policy)
Google ML Kit (text recognition)
Anonymous usage and performance metrics, device and app details; never your scans or their text
Running and maintaining on-device text recognition (ML Kit terms)
Your printer
The documents, photos and contact lists you choose to print, over your local network, Bluetooth or USB
Printing. For printers handled by Android’s print service or a manufacturer plugin (Mopria, HP and others), that plugin is a separate app with its own privacy policy
Websites you open in the Web page feature
Your requests and IP address, like any browser; text that is not a web address is sent to Google Search
Loading the page you asked to print
Apps you share or save to
The file you share or save
Sharing and Save as PDF; that app’s privacy policy then applies
No advertising: the App contains no ad networks and does not use advertising identifiers
No copies of your documents, photos, scans or contacts on any server
No account, login, name, email or other contact details
No access to your mailbox or to your cloud storage accounts
No location: the location permission, where Android requires it for Bluetooth scanning, is never used to read your position
No push notifications; the only notification is a local one showing print progress, and only if you enable it
No data from other apps on your device beyond the files you choose to open
We do not operate servers for the App, so no personal data is stored by Calify. Your scans, settings, saved printers and history stay on your device until you delete them in the App, clear the App’s data or uninstall it. Files that arrive through Share are kept as a temporary copy in the App’s cache.
If Android backup is enabled on your device, your App settings are included in your Google account backup; device-to-device transfer also moves your scans and history. Both are controlled by Android and your Google account, not by us.
Analytics and crash data is held by Google on our behalf. Firebase keeps analytics event data for up to 14 months and crash reports for 90 days, after which it is deleted or aggregated. Google Play keeps purchase records under its own terms.
Google operates servers in the United States, the European Union and other countries, so data sent to Google may be processed outside your country. Where required, these transfers rely on Google’s standard contractual safeguards.
Camera, photos, contacts, Bluetooth and nearby devices are optional and asked for only when a feature needs them. You can deny or withdraw them at any time in Android Settings > Apps > Smart Printer > Permissions.
Delete scans inside the App, clear print history and recent documents in Settings, turn off “Remember history”, and forget saved printers at any time.
Clear all locally stored data through Android Settings > Apps > Smart Printer > Storage > Clear data, or by uninstalling the App.
Notifications for print progress are off unless you turn them on in Settings.
Manage or cancel Pro through your Google Play subscriptions page.
Depending on where you live (for example the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, California or Israel), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal data, to object to or restrict its processing, and to lodge a complaint with your data protection authority. Because the App holds no account, we identify your data by your Firebase installation ID, which you can find and reset by clearing the App’s data. To exercise a right, email support@calify-ai.com; we respond within 30 days.
We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising as defined by California law.
Children. The App is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
Security. All traffic between the App and Google is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Print jobs travel over your own local network, Bluetooth or USB connection; printers that support IPPS are used over an encrypted connection, while older printers may receive jobs unencrypted on your network. Scans and history are kept in the App’s private storage, which other apps cannot read. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes. We may update this policy when the App or the law changes. The current version is always available at https://www.calify-ai.com/privacy-policy-smart-printer, with its effective date at the top. Material changes will be announced in the App or on the store listing.
