Compass works without an account, shows no ads and keeps no personal data on servers of ours; what it does collect and share is set out below.
1. Who we are and what this policy covers
The Compass app (package name com.compass.digital.direction.gps, the “App”) is published by Calify LTD, a company registered in Israel (“Calify”, “we”, “us”). This policy applies to the Android version of the App distributed through Google Play.
It explains what information the App collects, how we use it, which third parties receive it, how long it is kept and the choices and rights you have. Questions about this policy can be sent to support@calify-ai.com.
2. Information we collect
Location. With your permission, the App reads your device’s precise (GPS) or approximate location. It is used to show your coordinates, altitude and position on the map, and to fetch the weather for where you are. The App does not store your location and does not send it to our analytics. It is sent only to the third-party services listed in section 4 (weather, map tiles and place names), at the moment you use those features.
Camera. In camera compass mode the App shows a live camera preview behind the compass dial. No photo or video is captured, saved or transmitted.
Motion sensors. The App reads the magnetometer, accelerometer and rotation vector sensor to compute heading and level. These readings are processed on your device only.
Device and usage data. Through Google Firebase (Analytics, Crashlytics and Remote Config) we receive a Firebase installation ID, device model and operating system version, app version, language, country derived from your IP address, app usage events (for example which screens are opened and which features are used) and crash reports. This data does not include your location or any account information.
Purchases. If you buy Premium, Google Play processes the payment. We receive only the purchase status and product identifier needed to unlock Premium on your device, never your payment details.
Install source. On first launch the App reads the Google Play install referrer (which campaign or link led to the install) and reports it to Firebase to measure where installs come from.
Settings kept on your device. Your preferences (units, theme, language, dial style, onboarding status, Premium status and a few usage counters) are stored locally on your device and never uploaded.
3. How we use information
We use the information described above only to:
Provide the App’s features: compass heading, spirit level, coordinates, map, altitude and weather
Unlock and maintain Premium after a purchase
Understand how the App is used and fix crashes and bugs
Configure and improve the App remotely (for example which options are shown) through Firebase Remote Config
Measure which channels bring new installs
Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Use
We do not sell personal information, do not use it for advertising and do not build profiles of individual users.
4. Third parties that receive data
The App sends data only to the services below, each acting under its own privacy terms. We have no servers of our own.

When you share your position through the Android share sheet or copy coordinates to the clipboard, the data goes to the app you choose; that app’s privacy policy then applies.
5. What we do not collect
No advertising: the App contains no ad networks and does not read your advertising ID
No account, login, name, email or other contact details
No photos, videos, contacts, files or messages
No location history: your position is never stored by us or sent to our analytics
No push notifications
No data from other apps on your device
6. Storage, retention and international transfers
We do not operate servers for the App, so no personal data is stored by Calify. Your settings stay on your device until you clear the App’s data or uninstall it.
Analytics and crash data is held by Google on our behalf. Firebase keeps analytics event data for up to 14 months and crash reports for 90 days, after which it is deleted or aggregated. Google Play keeps purchase records under its own terms.
Google and Open-Meteo operate servers in the United States, the European Union and other countries, so data sent to them may be processed outside your country. Where required, these transfers rely on the providers’ standard contractual safeguards.
7. Your choices and rights
Location and camera are optional. You can deny or withdraw them at any time in Android Settings > Apps > Compass > Permissions; the compass, level and sensor screens keep working without them.
Clear all locally stored data at any time through Android Settings > Apps > Compass > Storage > Clear data, or by uninstalling the App.
Manage or cancel Premium through your Google Play subscriptions page.
Depending on where you live (for example the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, California or Israel), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal data, to object to or restrict its processing, and to lodge a complaint with your data protection authority. Because the App holds no account, we identify your data by your Firebase installation ID, which you can find and reset by clearing the App’s data. To exercise a right, email support@calify-ai.com; we respond within 30 days.
We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising as defined by California law.
8. Children, security, changes and contact
Children. The App is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
Security. All network traffic from the App is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). We rely on Google’s security measures for data held in Firebase and Google Play. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes. We may update this policy when the App or the law changes. The current version is always available at https://www.calify-ai.com/privacy-policy-digital-compass, with its effective date at the top. Material changes will be announced in the App or on the store listing.
